Translation as Communication across Languages and Cultures

In this lecture She first suggests ways of building bridges between linguistic and cultural   approaches to translation. Secondly, She presents her own theory of translation as re-contextualization and a Third Space phenomenon followed by a number of illustrations and examples as well as reflections on the impact of global English on translation. Finally, she will discuss some implications for translator education.

主讲人介绍：

Juliane House教授是国际知名翻译与跨文化研究专家，本科就读于德国海德堡大学，双修英语和西班牙语翻译和国际法专业，于加拿大多伦多大学获得应用语言学博士学位，同时是芬兰于伟屈思莱大学以及西班牙海梅一世大学荣誉博士，现为德国汉堡大学名誉教授、匈牙利科学院名誉客座教授。Juliane House教授曾担任国际翻译与跨文化研究协会(IATTS)主席，是德国科学基金会汉堡大学多语多语言研究中心的资深成员，指导参与了多个关于翻译和口译的项目。主要研究方向包括：翻译理论与批评、跨文化语用学、对比语用学、话语分析、跨文化交际、国际商务沟通、二语和外语习得与第二语言教学、多语研究等。House教授曾出版专著40部，期刊论文近300篇等。
